SENIORS GOLF
Our Seniors section is open to all members over 60 years old regardless of ability. Our aim is to offer a complete programme of golf throughout the year with many competitions, friendly matches with other clubs and a very competitive and successful League team.
There are a number of informal playing groups meeting at various times throughout the week, each very welcoming to new members. For those wishing to round out the club experience there are many social events that occur throughout the year.
While these informal groups operate under their own playing policies; the Seniors’ section provide the organisation of the formal competitions of which there are around 60 events per year. So, it’s never a problem to find a group or a playing level at which to feel comfortable. And without a doubt, you will be made to feel comfortable at this extremely friendly club.
SENIORS CAPTAIN
Graham Baldwin
” Welcome to the Club’s Seniors Section at Tenterden GC. It is an honour to be Seniors Captain for 2026.
During the week Seniors play in a number of different groups on each day of the week and we can introduce new members into these groups when asked. Please let me know if you need an introduction. The Seniors (over 60’s) have 2 League teams plus a team playing friendly matches. There is a Super Senior’s League side for the Over 70s. Matches are played both home and away throughout the spring and summer. It is a great way to meet other golfers and to play other Kent courses at a nominal cost.We also have a full programme of club Seniors competitions throughout the year and I would encourage you to sign up and play in these. They are friendly and competitive and there are cups and trophies, and Honours Boards in the clubhouse for the winners. Keep an eye on the Senior’s notice board for details of how you can play for one of the Senior teams or in a club competition.
I have two nominated charities this year. I hope to buy a new display case for Tenterden Museum for the Baron of The Cinque Ports Mayoral Robes which is an important exhibit in our wonderful local museum. I am also supporting Hi-Kent which operates throughout the county, working with the NHS, both educating about and helping people with hearing problems. This is very relevant as we get older although we are sometimes reluctant to admit it! I hope that my fellow seniors will support me in raising as much as we can throughout the coming year. Finally, and most importantly, please email me or call me if you would like to learn more about our Seniors Section, or how you can enter our competitions and teams. I look forward to playing with as many groups as I can, and to meeting members on the course and in the clubhouse. “
