Chef/Cook Manager for catering and bar service at

Tenterden Golf Club is a long-established friendly private members club based at the edge of the thriving Tenterden Town. We have 550 members, with an ambition for more to join. We host many visitors, golf societies, team competitions and charity days throughout the year. All these events require the provision of a first-class food and beverage offer and service. Whilst we continue to develop and improve the golf course, we will also be enhancing the off-course services through an extended and improved food and beverage service. This is not only to ensure an excellent all-round member and customer experience, but because we believe that the food and beverage we offer is a key factor in retaining our existing members whilst attracting new members and customers.
To help us deliver our vision we are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and dynamic manager from a commercial catering background, but will also consider the right candidate ready for the next step into a management role. This role presents the ideal opportunity for a dynamic Chef/Cook to draw together the kitchen and bar disciplines into one exciting management role. You will be at the centre of developing and delivering a new food and beverage model at the Club and be a key part of the management team. This role will give you the opportunity to develop your ideas, broaden your experience and allow you to define your style and personality through the menus and dishes you create. This dynamic role crosses between management, front of house and food preparation disciplines and holds the overall responsibility for the kitchen and bar operations in terms of quality, service levels and health & hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
- Supported by your Assistant Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the management and development of the food and beverage offer at the Club, and will line manage all staff within the food and beverage team
- Oversee all aspects of food and beverage preparation and production in the kitchen, bar and halfway house
- Lead a team of staff, providing guidance and training as required and fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Maintaining high-quality standards and consistency in the food & beverage offering
- Develop and deliver menus for daily service, club matches and a variety of functions and events ensuring the use of fresh seasonal produce and high-quality presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards at all times
- Manage inventory, ordering and stock control
- Collaborate with the General Manager to develop cost effective strategies for all facets of the food and beverage service
- Assist in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests by maintaining high standards of hospitality and service

Requirements
- Extensive experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Management skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to effectively lead the team and collaborate with all departments
- Able to deliver menu choices that meet varying tastes and price points
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Financially astute and confident, analysing and managing kitchen and bar costs and margins to provide a profit-making department
