Tenterden Golf Club – General Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and forward-looking person to be instrumental in developing Tenterden Golf Club into a top-class member’s golf club with growing membership and visitor numbers. The growth in local housing offers great opportunities for increasing membership especially family participation.
Tenterden GC has a great course and a reputation for being one of the friendliest Clubs in Kent, but we are not complacent, there is plenty of scope for improvement and development. The Management Committee is forward-looking and has put together an ambitious strategic five-year business plan which sets out a vision for an exciting future. What we need now is a dynamic General Manager to implement the plan and grow the membership attracting younger golfers and securing an exciting future for the Club.
As GM, the job description will include all the usual responsibilities you would expect the GM to carry. However, the key focus of the new GM will be to grow member and visitor income and therefore the applicant will need to be excited by this key goal.
Situated on the outskirts of Tenterden in one of the most pleasant areas of Kent, the course is challenging for players of all abilities. Carefully maintained to allow for play all year, the course demands accuracy and consideration whilst allowing for a comfortable pace of play. Tenterden
Golf has earned a reputation for being a very friendly club, equally facilitating competitive, social, and less formal golf.
The CGM will be expected to be pro-active in taking the initiative, leadership and responsibility for all operational and commercial aspects of the running of TGC, making executive decisions within the parameters set down by the MC to ensure the reputation, delivery of strategic goals, the smooth running and development of the Club going forward.
Th role will suite someone with experience of management, preferably within a golfing environment, and experience of designing and delivering sales and marketing activities to grow membership and visitor numbers.
Good communication, leadership and change management skills & experience are essential, as is the ability to delegate effectively. A relevant qualification (GCMA) is preferable but not essential.
